Israel’s Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion paid a brie visit, of less than six hours duration, to this old walled capital of French-speaking Canada this weekend. He was the official guest of Quebec’s Prime Minister Lesage.
Arriving here by air in a drizzling rain, he was met at the airport by Premier Lesage and Minister of Revenue Paul Earl. Mr. Ben-Gurion then was taken to Quebec’s Legislative Building, stopped at City Hall, visited the Citadel, home of the famous 22nd Royal Regiment, and then was taken to the official residence of Quebec’s Lieutenant Governor, Onesime Gagnon, Mr. Ben-Gurion described his visit as “a sight-seeing tour. “
