Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion today took leave of the Cabinet prior to his departure this week for the United States. In reporting to the Cabinet on his trip, the Prime Minister said he would meet political personalities as well as Jewish leaders in the United States and later in England.
A Government spokesman later told representatives of the press that there were no discussions at today’s Cabinet meeting with regard to Mr. Ben-Gurion’s trip. The spokesman intimated that the Prime Minister may also visit Paris at a later stage. Yesterday, Prime Minister Ben-Gurion received Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, American Zionist leader, who is now visiting Israel.
(President Nasser of the United Arab Republic, speaking in Damascus, assailed Mr. Ben-Gurion and urged Washington to shun him during his visit to the United States. He described Premier Ben-Gurion as “the greatest war criminal of the twentieth century.”)
