David Ben Gurion was hospitalized today at Tel Hashomer Hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage which left him partially paralyzed. Hospital officials described the 87-year-old former Prime Minister’s condition as “fairly serious.” He is receiving special care from Dr. Bolislaw Goldman, the hospital’s deputy director, and from a team of specialists. Late tonight, doctors reported that Ben Gurion retained consciousness. Labor Party leaders and his relatives were informed of the situation. Ben Gurion has been in hospitals several times this year for checkups.
