A message of felicitations and good wishes was sent by Premier David Ben Gurion to President Truman today. “In the name of the government and the people of Israel,” the massage said, “I beg to extend to you warmest good wishes.
“We pray that your tenure of office may contribute to promoting the welfare, progress and happiness of the American people and the cause of peace and justice in international affairs. The people of Israel are deeply mindful of your sympathetic understanding of their rights for a free and unfettered national life and your consistent support for their Just claims. They pledge their new freedom to the advancement of world peace and democratic progress,” the massage said.
