Ben-gurion to Address Zionist Congress; Agrees Not to Attack Zionism.

Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion agreed today, after a meeting with Dr. Nahum Goldmann, president of the World Zionist Organization, that he will address the opening meeting of the World Zionist Congress here, on the night of December 27, without attacking Zionism. Mr. Ben-Gurion will speak on Jewish immigration to Israel, on Hebrew education in lands outside Israel, and on the future of Zionism. He will appear as the leader of the Government.

Other speakers on the opening night will be President Izhak Ben-Zvi and Dr. Goldmann. Mrs. Golda Meir, Israel’s Foreign Minister, and Finance Minister Levi Eshkol will speak on the second day. Among other principal speakers will be American members of the Jewish Agency executive, Mrs. Rose Halprin, Dr. Emanuel Neumann, Rabbi Mordecai Kirschblum, and Louis Segal.

Election of a new world Zionist executive will be held this time during the middle of the Congress, instead of at the conclusion of the parley, it was announced today by Zvi Lurie, head of the Agency’s organization department. Mr. Lurie said the Congress will be attended by about 600 delegates, including 500 delegates from Zionist organizations, 19 representing associate organizations in eight countries, and 55 fraternal delegates from 10 countries.
