Ben Touster, United Hias Service leader, and treasurer of CARE, will make a ’round the world trip in the course of which he will visit overseas offices of United Service and CARE missions, it was announced here today. Accompanied by his wife, Mr. Touster leaves from Idlewild this Saturday for Tokyo, from where they will go on to Hong Kong, India, Iran, Turkey, Israel, Greece, Italy and France.
The Tousters are scheduled to arrive May 10 in Tel Aviv, They will remain two weeks, inspecting CARE programs in Israel. These include a school feeding project, in which 100, 000 elementary pupils receive a glass of milk each day, and the farming and vocational school project in the Evan Ha’ezer district, for which CARE has provided large quantities of equipment. A former president of Hias, Mr. Touster is president of the Hias Immigrant Bank; a director and member of the executive committee of the American Jewish Committee, and the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds.
