Benjamin Levitin, a member of the editorial staff of the Jewish Daily Forward, died early yesterday morning in Mount Sinai Hospital, where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. His age was 52. Born in Potchep, Russia, he came to this country in 1903.
Mr. Levitin, who held the degrees of A.B. and E.E. from Ohio State University, has been with The Forward since 1916. He was a member of the executive committee of the Jewish Writers Union. Funeral services will be held on Thursday in the Forward building. They are being arranged by the Workmen’s Circle, a fraternal order of which he was treasurer.
