Funeral services were held here today for Benjamin Slomovitz, brother of Philip Slomovitz, editor and publisher of The Jewish News in Detroit. He died in Bayonne, N, J., this Sunday at the age of 71.
The deceased was a prominent merchant in Bayonne, where he lived for more than 30 years. Surviving him are, in addition to Philip, his wife Sophie; sons, Bernard, Dr. Harold Sahm and Leo; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Mrs. Fred Brown, Mrs. Alan Sloan, Mrs. Nathan Pritz and Mrs. Philip Sills. A younger brother, Sol, who was Wayne County Deputy Treasurer, died in August 1963.
