Government sources indicated today that Gen. Vagn Bennike, chief of United Nations truce supervision in Israel, will present a definite “security blueprint” to the United Nations which may have the support of the State Department. Gen. Bennike left Israel by air today to report in person to the Security Council.
His plan was outlined here to include creation of a demilitarized zone in Israel frontier territory with complete sovereignty entrusted to the United Nations; a requirement by the United Nations that Israel and Arab armed forces near the frontier be dispersed; the barring of Jews and Arabs from a zone extending three miles from the border, and enlargement of the United Nations truce supervision machinery to include aircraft and mobile ground units. Gen. Bennike was said to be prepared to ask the United Nations for funds to implement this program.
