United States Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson said today that progress had been achieved in his talks here with Israel officials on Israel’s bid for American agricultural surpluses. But he pointed out, prior to his departure for Turkey that has budget could not meet the demands of all the countries seeking surplus American foodstuffs. He said he would seek a larger budget for this purpose.
Mr Benson who arrived in Israel Monday from Jordan, toured Israel’s agricultural areas by air and also visited Premier David Ben Gurion at Hadassah Hospital during his 10-hour stay in the country.
