Lynda Koolish, a 19-year-old coed who kicked an American Nazi propagandist at the campus gate of the University of California, was convicted here today of assault and battery and sentenced to 30 days’ probation.
Appearing in Municipal Court before Judge Floyd Talbott, Miss Koolish pleaded not guilty but she admitted she had kicked Sibley S. Seamon as the latter, clad in a Nazi uniform, was delivering an anti-Semitic tirade. She said she had an “uncontrollable impulse” to kick the neo-Nazi when she heard him denouncing “Jews and America.” She also told the court that she had heard from eyewitnesses about Nazi atrocities in the Auschwitz death camp and that she believed her action was “understandable.”
