Germany’s oldest Jewish citizen, Philipp Falkenstein, will be honored by the Berlin Jewish community at a special ceremony here tomorrow on his 100th birthday.
Falkenstein, a glazier, spent several years in a Nazi concentration camp in Austria. He now lives in an institution in Berlin’s French sector. The 93rd birthday of Frau Dora Lachmann, who claims to be the oldest German Jewess, will also be celebrated at tomorrow’s ceremony.
