The Berlin Medical Journal, reporting that after three years of the Nazi regime Jews still comprised more than one-third of the city’s 6,277 doctors, announced today establishment of a union of “Aryan” physicians to counteract the “Jewish influence” in medicine.
The announcement signalized the opening of a renewed drive on Jewish physicians, whose numbers, the periodical asserted, have been reduced in three years to 2,143. Dr. H. Grote, author of the article, pointed out that Jewish physicians comprised between 70 and 80 per cent of the total in 1933.
Demands for further restrictions against Jewish doctors, were voiced today by the Angriff, organ of Propaganda Minister Goebbels.
