There has been a serious decrease in the amount of indemnification payments made by the Berlin authorities, Rolf Lowenberg, an official of the West Berlin Jewish Community, today told a meeting here of a Nazi victims organization.
Mr. Lowenberg reported that whereas Berlin had paid Nazi victims 7,000,000 marks in indemnification payments last August the city was now averaging less than 2,000,000 marks a month. He noted that this drop was not the fault of the local authorities, but of the Federal Government which had passed an Indemnification Law then failed to adopt implementation regulations for that law.
