Berlin Jews are forbidden to use any means of public transportation in an order issued yesterday in the German capital, the correspondent of the Stockholm daily, Dagens Nyheter reports today.
Jews living more than one hour’s walking distance or four miles away from their place of work may apply to the police for exemption from the new order. If the police approve their request they will be given permits to use street cars, busses or trains. Persons wounded in the war or other invalids may receive permission to ride shorter distances. Jewish school children living more than three miles from their school can use the transportation facilities if they obtain permits. Jewish doctors and nurses are permitted to use streetcars.
