The board of the Berlin Jewish community today appropriated 700,000 marks for the immediate relief of needy Jews. Hundreds of Jewish families have applied for aid and without this grant from the Jewish community would be ejected from their homes for failure to pay rent long in arrears.

Praising Jewish solidarity, Dr. Carl Severing, Prussian minister of the interior, urged the Jews to set an example to the rest of the population by aiding the old and the weak. He spoke at a meeting of the Jewish Aged Relief Fund attended by many leading Jews.
