Discussion by the League of Nations of the Jewish question, against the wishes of the German delegation, was in large part responsible for Germany’s withdrawal from the League of Nations, the Wolff News Agency, semi-official organization, reported today.
The Wolff dispatch corroborates Jewish Telegraphic Agency reports from Berlin and Geneva in which Germany’s withdrawal from the League on the pretext of the Jewish question had been predicted. Following the Nazi announcement of this action, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported that the action had been taken, not only because of the cold shoulder given Germany’s arms demands, but also on Nazi assertions that German objections to discussion of the position of the Jews of Germany were disregarded.
“The League of Nations lost its right to represent the civilized world because it had become an anti-Fascist mass meeting and a forum for Jews and Marxists,” the Wolff dispatch today charged.
