The sensational Berlin paper, the Achtuhrabendblatt, features a telephone conversation with the commandant of the Palestine police, allegedly disclosing that the Palestine government contemplates a round-table conference between the Arabs and the Jews, under government management to settle the present outbreaks.
The Palestine police commandant, according to the paper, expressed the fear that Friday may see a renewal of the disturbances, when the Moslems leave the Mosques after mid-day prayers. He added, however, that today’s rains throughout the country have been of the greatest help to the police in suppressing the uprising. The Palestine police official assured the Berlin paper that the Jewish colonies and Tel Aviv, all Jewish city, are perfectly quiet.
The Voelkischer Beobachter carries a cartoon on its front page showing the Arabs expelling the
Jews from Palestine. The cartoon also carries insulting inscriptions against the Jews.
