Berlin University has been closed down to-day for an indefinite period, following a fresh Hitlerist outbreak started by an announcement published to-day by the University authorities that three Nazi students and one Socialist student have been suspended for taking part in the disturbances which took place at the University on January 22nd. (reported in the J.T.A. Bulletin at the time). Immediately after the announcement was made the Nazi students went about shouting “Perish Judea” and “Out with the Jews”, and attacked Jewish students who, being greatly outnumbered, jumped through the windows of the lecture rooms into the streets to escape from their assailants. The University authorities had expected that something of the kind might occur and had brought up a force of police to stand by in readiness. The police immediately intervened and very quickly restored order. Six Nazi students have been arrested. It is reported that several Jewish students have also been arrested.
