dence and its democratic existence from foreign attack. He pointed out that dissemination of the “Protocols” in Switzerland is a definite violation of the existing law prohibiting the incitement of one section of the population against another.
Emphasizing that the Swiss Constitution draws no distinctions between citizens with regard to race and religion, Prof. Matti asked the court to put an end to the anti-Semitic propaganda which the Nazis are spreading in Switzerland along the same line as it is spread in Germany.
ASKS ACQUITTAL
The Nazi lawyer Ursprung, in his address before the court, appealed for acquittal of the Swiss Nazis who are being sued for spreading the forged “Protocols.”
“The accused could not know that the ‘Protocols’ are not genuine,” the Nazi lawyer argued. He denounced international Jewry and asserted that “the time will come when Switzerland too will join in the fight against Jewish domination.”
Another Nazi lawyer, Dr. Ruef, will make his plea before the court tomorrow, after which the decision will be announced by the court late Monday or Tuesday.
A music center for adults sponsored by the Department of Public Welfare will be opened at the Brooklyn Y.M.H.A., 339 Eighth Street, in the near future. Registration will be held this week.
