Bernie Farber was named CEO of the Canadian Jewish Congress. Farber previously was executive director of the Congress’ Ontario region. Besides setting and implementing the organization’s objectives, priorities and policies, Farber will work with the Canadian Council for Israel and with Jewish Advocacy, a year-old umbrella organization that directs, coordinates and strengthens advocacy efforts on behalf of the Jewish community in Canada.
