During World War II, Mr. Kline served as a cryptographer with the US Fifth Air Force in the Pacific and was a member of the Guard of Honor that accompanied Gen. Douglas MacArthur to Tokyo to receive the Japanese surrender in 1945.
The Military Government, the largest single employer on the West Bank, announced 28 percent salary increases for 9300 Arabs in the Judaea and Samaria regions. The largest group to benefit from the raises will be 6000 teachers.
