Die Zeitung, German emigre daily published here, today reports that Dr. Berthold Jacobs, German-Jewish journalist, has been arrested in Portugal, while awaiting a visa to a South American country.
Dr. Jacobs was the cause of an international incident in the Spring of 1935 when he was kidnapped from Switzerland by Nazi agents and taken to Germany. Switzerland protested to the Nazi Government and threatened to bring the case to the World Court at The Hague. As a result of this and other world-wide protests the Nazis were forced to release Jacobs from the jail in which he had been confined for several months and he was returned to Swiss soil.
