Mrs. Bessie Berlin, 61 Goulding Avenue, was feted last night by the sisterhood of Congregation Ohel Jacob on the occasion of her eighty fourth birthday. Despite her advenced age Mrs. berlin is still active in women’s organizations. The Sisterhood of which Mrs. Berlin is the oldest member, conducted the celebration at the synagogue. Several hundred attended.
Congratulatory speeches were delivered by Mrs. Polin, Rabbi Reuben Weinstein of Congregation Ohel Jacob, and Rabbi Samuel T. Phillips of Jamestown, N. Y. The entertainment consisted of several vocal duet by Rose Spector and Clara Spector, accopanied by Elmer Polin.
