Biennial Convention of Women’s League of United Synagogue to Be Held in Minneapolis

Some 494 sisterhoods, representing more than 100,000 Jewish women in the United States and Canada affiliated with the Conservative movement, will participate in the biennial convention of the National Women’s League of the United Synagogue of America, to be held Nov. 12-16 in Minneapolis, it was announced today by Mrs. Barnett E. Kopelman, president of the League.

The convention will aim: 1. to intensify and widen the scope of Jewish education among American women affiliated with the Conservative movement’s sisterhoods; 2. to foster the ideals and values of Judaism among Jewish children through the League’s youth program; 3. to translate the individual woman’s as well as the group’s knowledge into proper action within the family unit, as participating members of the Jewish community and as citizens of the larger community in this country.” More than 800 delegates from all parts of the United States and Canada are expected to participate in the four-day parley.
