Walter H. Bieringer, vice-president of the Associated Jewish Philanthropies of Boston and member of the Truman Administration Advisory Committee on Displaced Persons, has been appointed chairman of the Governor’s Commission on Refugees. An expert on immigration problems, Mr. Bieringer has held a similar Massachusetts post under three governors during the past ten years.
