Trusteeship territories were a subject of discussion by the “Big Three” at the Potsdam Conference, it is revealed in the 6,000 word report issued today by the conferees simultaneously in Washington, Moscow and London.
The communique stated that the conference examined a proposal by the Soviet Government concerning trusteeship territories “as defined in the decision of the Crimea Conference and in the charter of the United Nations Organizations,” but did not elaborate what the proposal was.
Hope for “speedy agreement” on initiation of war criminal trials was expressed by the three governments, which reaffirmed “their intention to bring these criminals to swift and sure justice.”
