British, French and American representatives at the United Nations met today to consider three possible resolutions dealing with the Syrian complaint to the Security Council against Israel’s building a hydroelectric plant at Bnot Yaacov on the Jordan River.
The resolutions which the representatives of the Big Three are considering, it was said, are: 1. To refer the matter back to Maj. Gen. Vagn Bennike, UN truce supervisor in Palestine, with the suggestion that he look into the matter further; 2. To approve Gen. Bennike’s original report that Israel’s project is detrimental to Syrian interests; or, 3. To declare the project a violation of the armistice and call for an investigation to determine what measures should be taken to protect Arab claims.
