A one-day house to house campaign on behalf of Israel Bonds was carried out today by thousands of volunteers in a number of major American cities marking the beginning of BIG (Bonds for Israel Government) Week. In New York more than 37 leading Jewish organizations participated in the mass solicitation effort.
The campaign marks the climax of the spring phase of the 1953 nationwide drive. Among the cities which participated today in the one day efforts are: Cleveland, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Oakland, St. Louis, and Chicago. Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Detroit, Newark, Paterson, Asbury Park, Milwaukee, Miami Beach, Tucson, Dallas, Houston, New Haven, and Richmond, Va.
