Bill to De Federal Aid to Colleges Practicing Discrimination Introduced in House

Rep. Jacob K. Javits today introduced a 1950 education bill providing for denial of federal aid to institutions of higher learning which practice segregation or discrimination in admission of students on grounds of race, religion, or national origin. Mr. Javits said the Federal Government is now spending $3,400,000,000 for aid to schools through Veterans Administration payments and research and special study grants.
