A resolution demanding that the contributions of Jews, Negroes and other minorities to the development of the United States be made a permanent part of the history courses in the schools of the State of New York was introduced here today before the Legislature by Assemblyman Jack of New York City.
The resolution declares that the “ruthless” practice of discrimination against minority-groups is a detriment to the war effort and prevents total mobilization of the nation’s manpower. The Board of Regents is called upon under the terms of the resolution to prepare and recommend text books which treat historically the contributions of all racial groups.
