Frederick Birchall’s dispatches from Berlin and Vienna to the New York Times have won the accolade of the editors of the American Spectator as the best news reporting of the year. George Jean Nathan, Ernest Boyd, Sherwood Anderson, James Branch Cabell and Eugene O’Neill, editors of the Spectator, made this decision in the course of selecting the best play, fiction, news reporting, cartoon and advertising of the past year.
