The Soviet Government will admit the first 200 Jewish families from abroad to the autonomous Jewish territory of Biro-Bidjan in October, it was announced yesterday by Sergei Tauzkaieff president of the Comzet, Soviet commission for settling Jews on land.
His declaration was made in an interview with Adolph Held, president of the Amalgamated Bank of New York, who passed through Moscow on his way home after an unofficial visit to Biro-Bidjan. Mr. Held was accompanied by B. Charney Vladeck, manager of the Jewish Daily Forward of New York.
After Mr. Vladeck visited Palestine, the two toured Jewish colonies in the Crimea and were received by the Crimean Government. They said that Crimea agricultural collectives reported a plentiful grain harvest.
