Millions of persons have been praying that President Weizmann will guide “Israel aright,” former Vice-President Henry A. Wallace declared here last night at the annual banquet of the American Birobidjan Committee. Wallace recalled his acquaintance with President Weizmann when the latter came to this country during the war to expedite the production of synthetic rubber.
The former Presidential candidate also declared: “I am sure everyone here Places Israel first in his affection and interest. In no sense is Birobidjan a competitor of, or a substitute for, Israel.”
