Bishop Francis J. McConnell, ecclesiastical head of the Methodist Episcopal Church of New York, formerly holding the same position in Pittsburgh, will be the first speaker in a symposium on “The Place of Religion in the Modern World,” planned by the Men’s Brotherhood of Temple Rodef Shalom, Fifth and Morewood Avenues, when he presents the viewpoint of Protestantism this Wednesday evening, December 11.
The attitude taken by Jewry on this same topic will be given by Rabbi Abba Hillel Silver, of the Temple, Cleveland, Ohio, on February 19, and a prominent member of the Catholic Church, not yet announced, will conclude the symposium with an address on the Catholic outlook on modern religion.
