A call was issued today by the Bishop of Worcester to all Christians to pray for persecuted Jews on Whitsunday, May 20. The call was issued at the request of the council of the World Evangelical Alliance and has the approval of the Archbishop of York and other prominent church and lay officials in England.
While Nazi Germany is not mentioned specifically, it is known that the church in England has utterly disapproved of the Nazi persecution of the German Jews. Prominent church officers including most of the bishops and archbishops have spoken at protest meetings and have voiced their condemnation of the Nazi program.
