The explosion of a bomb at the Luneberg villa of the attorney, Strauss, president of the local branch of the Central Union of German Citizens of the Jewish Faith, continues to be the subject of discussion in various circles.
Mr. Strauss, who escaped death from the bomb because of his absence on a vacation, returned today from Geneva. He declared that the attempt on his life was apparently an act of revenge on the part of the Hitlerites and members of Ludendorf’s Tannenberg Bund, “because I, as attorney for the Luneberg Synagogue, demanded punishment for the synagogue desecrators.”
The Hitlerite organ, “Niedersachen Steuermer,” lately conducted a campaign against the Luneberg Jews, singling out in particular, Mr. Strauss.
