A private funeral service will be held for Blanche Frank Ittleson, a pioneer in mental health care, who died Saturday at her home here at the age of 99. She was the widow of Henry Ittleson, founder of the Commercial Credit and Investment Company, now the C.I.T. Financial Corporation.
In 1953, Mrs. Ittleson established the Henry Ittleson Center for Child-Research to care for emotionally disturbed children. She had been active for a half century in efforts to improve the mental, psychological and emotional health of children and adults.
Mrs., Ittleson was a trustee of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies and a board member of the Jewish Board of Guardians. Among the many awards she received was the first Herbert H. Lehman Human Relations Award, presented to her in 1953 by the American Jewish Committee.
