Blaustein Discusses Israeli Needs at State Department; Raises Grant-in-aid Problem

Middle Eastern questions were discussed yesterday in an hour-long meeting between Assistant Secretary of State George C. McGhee, in charge of Middle Eastern Affairs, and Jacob Blaustein, president of the American Jewish Committee, it was disclosed today. Subjects discussed in the meeting, it was learned, included stops to ensure peace in the entire Middle East, grants-in-aid to Israel, the Israeli-Syrian dispute over the Huleh reclamation project and the plight of the Jews of Iraq.
