Jacob Blaustein, chairman of the executive board of the American Jewish Committee, has accepted the chairmanship of a distinguished group of forty-eight communal leaders who are sponsoring a dinner in honor of Judge Joseph M. Proskauer at the Ritz-Carlton in New York on Nov. 26, Col. Frederick F. Greenman announced today.
Judge Proskauer, president of the American Jewish Committee, is an honorary vice-president of the campaign to raise $4,000,000 to establish the first medical school is Palestine at Hebrew University. The dinner is a tribute to him in furtherance of the campaign effort. The medical school campaign is sponsored by the American Friends of the Hebrew University and Hadassah.
Judge Proskauer will be honored because of his “efforts to open the doors of Palestine to the pitiful remnants of our people in Europe so that they might regain for themselves the dignity and well-being of free men, and because of his genuine interest in the establishment of the first medical school in Palestine,” the announcement said.
