The Distinguished Service Award of the University of Marvland was presented here to Jacob Blaustein, noted Jewish leader. Mr. Blaustein was cited as industrial and cultural leader, champion of human rights, philanthropist and consultant to the Federal Government and to the United Nations.
Mr. Blaustein was also the recipient this week of the American Liberties Medallion of the American Jewish Committee at Dallas, for having advanced the principles which sustain American liberties. Those who have previously received the American Liberties Medallion are Dean Erwin N. Griswold of Harvard, Judge Learned Hand, Senator Herbert H. Lehman, Judge Joseph M. Proskauer and Father John LaFarge.
