The American Jewish Committee today supported the Administration’s request for $1,500,000 for 1956, and $800,000 for 1957 for the United Nations Refugee Fund.
The AJC position was presented by Jacob Blaustein, honorary president of the organization, in testimony before the Senate Appropriations Committee today. Mr. Blaustein, who was a member of the U. S. delegation to the United Nations General Assembly last year, served on the committee of the General Assembly which was concerned with the refugee problem.
