The Union of Israelite Frenchmen, a patriotic organization, today issued a statement warning against the development of an anti-Semitic movement under the pretext of opposition to Premier Leon Blum. The fact that Premier Blum is a Jew has been made the focus of attacks upon him in the press and the Chamber of Deputies.
The Union’s statement also attacks the League for Combatting Anti-Semitism, charging the League is “preparing a social revolution under the pretext of fighting foes of Jews.”
The statement couples Hitlerist racism and Soviet materialism as the enemies of Jews.
