Formation of a B’nai B’rith-AZA National Scouting Committee to coordinate the efforts of the entire B’nai B’rith membership, in both the youth and adult sections, in the task of building Jewish Boy Scout troops throughout the country, was announced here today by Henry Monsky, president of the fraternal organization. The new set-up has been approved by the national Boy Scout leaders.
Creation of a national AZA Boy Scout department to promote interest in Scouting throughout B’nai B’rith and AZA is also planned. The department would work with the National Jewish Committee on Scouting; promote a national award for religious and cultural achievement among Jewish Scouts; stimulate Jewish Boy Scout Sabbath services and develop Jewish holiday programs for Boy Scout troops.
