Establishment of a $2,000,000 Henry Monsky Memorial Foundation to sponsor religious, charitable and educational projects designed to “enrich American Jewish life,” was announced today by Frank Goldman, president of B’nai B’rith.
The Foundation will be financed through a national fund-raising campaign to be inaugurated with a dinner in Pittsburgh June 19, and followed by similar dinners in major cities throughout the country. The Foundation’s first project will be the erection of a B’nai B’rith headquarters building to house the national offices of the organization. Other projects being considered by the board of trustees of the Foundation include establishment of a youth camp with a program emphasizing Jewish cultural activities and an international Hillel Foundation at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem which will serve Jewish students from all parts of the world.
