Teen-age Jewish girls have urged the United States Government to cut red tape and speed up full scale aid to the starving civilian population of Biafra, the secessionist eastern province of Nigeria now in its second year of civil war. The appeal was made in a statement issued by the B’nai B’rith Girls organization which helped build a modern girls school in the Nigerian capital of Lagos three years ago and continues to support it. That project was cited as evidence that the girls are not involved in the political issues of the Nigerian struggle. “Our only concern is with human needs suffering on both sides of the conflict.” the statement said.
