Novelist Saul Bellow will receive the 1968 B’nai B’rith Jewish Heritage Award for ‘excellence in Jewish literature,” it was announced today. The award will be made in Philadelphia March 3 at the annual meeting of BB’s commission on adult Jewish education.
The $1,000 literary prize, established in 1966, is awarded each year to honor a writer who “makes a positive contribution to contemporary literature by his authentic interpretation of Jewish life and values.”
