B’nai B’rith International’s immediate past president is expected to attend the war crimes trial of a former concentration camp commander. The Croatian government requested that Tommy Baer attend the trial of Dinko Sakic, which is expected to begin next month. In 1995, Baer, a former U.S. federal prosecutor, helped locate Sakic, who was charged with crimes against humanity between 1942 and 1944, when he was commander of the Jasenovac concentration camp under Croatia’s Nazi-backed Ustashe regime.
