A father and two of his sons, a cantor, and eight future rabbis were included in the class of 55 candidates initiated into Cincinnati Lodge No. 4, B’nai B’rith. The father was A. N. Silverstein who, with his sons Sam and Ben, were members of the class. Cantor Emil Rosen of the Avon Symagogue was likewise initiated, as were the following eight students of the Hebrew Union College: Albert Bilgray, Samuel Volkman, David Jacobson, Martin Weitz, Maurice Kleinber, Morton Kohn, Samuel Cook, David Polish.
