B’nai B’rith enrolled 31, 860 new members in 1961, it was announced here today by Dr. William A. Wexler of Savannah, chairman of the organization’s Membership Cabinet. He reported 19,121 members in men’s lodges and, for the first nine months, 12, 739 in B’nai B’rith Women.
Fifty-five men’s lodges and women’s chapters were chartered in 1961; 55 others are in the process of being organized, he stated. The largest number of new members–6, 637–was enrolled in the District One region of B’nai B ‘rith, which covers New York, New England and eastern Canada.
